Meetings are currently held in Madison, Wisconsin, the first Wednesday of every month from 7pm-9pm. Prospective members are invited to attend one meeting at no cost. WSF also offers support to members who would like to meet regularly in other areas of the country.
*NOTE: Wed., March 3, 2010 – The Badgers men’s basketball team is playing at the Kohl Center at 7:30 pm. This usually affects traffic and parking. Please plan accordingly.

*** NEW ***Topic of the Month: We will watch “Dreams on Spec,” Daniel Snyder’s absorbing documentary that follows the journey of three aspiring screenwriters as they struggle to get their careers off the ground and make their dreams come true in the competitive business of moviemaking. Featuring interviews with industry bigwigs like James L. Brooks and Nora Ephron (among many others), Snyder’s film paints a telling picture of what it’s like to be one of the millions who come to Hollywood hoping to be the “next big thing.” The film is 86 minutes long. Discussion will follow.,

Pre-Meeting: Several members meet most months at 6 pm at the Kollege Klub (corner of Lake and Langdon, kitty-corner from the Pyle Center). Join us for conversation and a burger before the regular meeting. (The KK is open again. Our backup location is State Street Brats, corner of State and Francis. Both are one block from Lowell Hall, corner of Langdon and Francis.)

1st ANNUAL WSF RETREAT
We have 15 spots open for this rustic getaway. First come, first serve. Relax with your peers in the woods of Wisconsin (Wisconsin Dells area) at a rustic cabin. March 19th (Friday evening), 20th (Saturday), and 21st (Sunday).
Enjoy the comfort of your own room as well!
This is a non lecture based retreat. Mingle with your peers, discuss, share a meal (Breakfast and lunch covered by WSF), attend movie screenings, enjoy the outdoors, and retreat to your own room or wherever for however long you’d like. Get away. Get out of your normal routine. Relax. Talk shop with your peers. Write. Write. Write. No deadlines. No expectations.
