Madison Meetings Theme: "Making Our Craft Great in 2008"
by Christine DeSmet
Madison area WSF members—
We have a new year, and a new mode of doing business at the meetings.
Join us Wednesday, August 6 at 7:00-8:45 p.m., Lowell Center, 610 Langdon St., Madison, for "Making Our Craft Great in 2008."
Every monthly meeting in 2008 will have a craft component in a big way (yup, as opposed to a small way). That means each meeting will be filled with tips, lists of do’s and don’ts, examples of good craft, maybe a writing exercise, and more.
September 2008: Kyiel says: I would like to moderate a discussion on what is the best way to write good realistic dialogue. Is it as simple as the old stand by of sitting and listening to people talk, or is there something else? What is the difference between realistic dialogue and good movie dialogue, e.g., Kevin Smith vs. Woody Allen vs. Aaron Sorkin?
It’s going to be a packed meeting. Please be professional and arrive on time. Thank you.
Make 2008 your year to be great!
